Compensation
Throughout your surrogacy program, the intended parents of the child will pay for all of your expenses as you agree in your surrogacy agreement. In addition, you may be compensated for the pain and health risks associated with the pregnancy, if you wish. You may solely decide and/or negotiate the amount of your compensation.IARC® will provide information about and assist you in choosing a reasonable amount of compensation if you want such help. (Many factors affect your reasonable amount of compensation, including, but not limited to, whether you are willing to be an AI or IVF surrogate, whether you have been a surrogate before, and whether and how well your existing health insurance will cover a surrogate pregnancy.) Many infertile couples, however, have limited financial resources or are otherwise restricted in their ability to pay compensation. Therefore, we encourage you to strongly consider reducing your compensation or doing a program without compensation for such a couple if you are so inclined. If you do receive compensation, IARC® will obtain and escrow all of your compensation before you become pregnant and pay it to you according to whatever schedule of payments you negotiate in your agreement.
