I. Requirements for IARC®'s Full (Artificial Insemination (AI)) Surrogates:
- 21 - 33 years of age.
- No genetic/hereditary illness.
- Previously successfully given birth.
- Able to withstand injections and fertility medications.
- Able to travel unaccompanied for fertility treatments (usually 3 - 6+ days).
Full (AI) Surrogacy is an alternative for an infertile couple if the wife is not capable of producing eggs and is unable to carry a baby to term. The parents may not be able to carry a baby to term due to hormonal problems, birth defects to the reproductive organs, a hysterectomy, or lack of functional uterus. The surrogate would undergo artificial insemination with the husband's sperm. As the surrogate, you would be carrying a baby that would be genetically related to both you and the client.
II. Requirements for IARC®'s Gestational (In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)) Surrogates:
- 21-39 years of age.
- Previously successfully given birth.
- Able to withstand injections and fertility medications.
- Able to travel unaccompanied for fertility treatments (usually 3 days).
Gestational Surrogacy is an alternative for an infertile couple if the wife is unable to carry a baby to term but may still be capable of producing her own viable eggs. In other cases, an ovum donor may be used with the husband's sperm. Regardless, as a surrogate, you would be carrying a baby that would not be genetically related to you.
