Timeline For Ovum Donation Program

There is no waiting period for choosing an ovum donor since we have a wide variety of available fertility helpers from which to choose. However, minority donors (i.e. Asian, African American, East Indian) are harder to find and may require a waiting period. The greatest delay will occur while you receive and review multiple donor profiles before you actually select your donor. This selection process usually takes 2-4 weeks.

Once matching occurs, psychosocial assessment and medical testing must be completed. This usually takes approximately 2 months. Once testing is completed, there is a minimum of 7 weeks required after the donor's first day of her period in order for her to complete her medications prior to egg retrieval. Thus, the typical ovum donor program is usually completed in 4-6 months.
